Consider this list of 10 ideas for a better 2015:
Savings is your security – Think to save first, spend second. Keep your savings account separate to help guard against unnecessary spending. Set your goals – for some it may be saving to buying a new car, for others it may mean retirement planning.
Evaluate your insurance needs – Reviewing your insurance can help you save money and enhance coverage. Did you get engaged or build an addition on your home? Reviewing your current policies is important because your needs continually evolve, as do the insurance products available.
Organize and de-clutter – In many instances, less is more. Being organized can help reduce stress while having less clutter can enhance productivity. Start small, one drawer or one corner of a room at a time. Once that’s done, move on to the next task, on a set schedule.
Keep up with regular maintenance items – Regular maintenance for your car and home is essential. If you can take care of a pressing item now, you may avoid a larger issue later. Keep track of all maintenance items, upgrades and repairs. Such records and receipts may also prove necessary if you ever have an insurance claim.
Take a vacation – When we take time out for ourselves we can sometimes gain new perspective. Whether a short drive away for a weekend getaway or a plane trip away for an extended break, we all need to recharge our batteries. Consider depositing a modest amount of money into a dedicated savings account each week to help fund your trip.
Schedule a physical – When we exclaim “Happy New Year!” It is oftentimes followed with an accompanied declaration of “Health above all else!” An annual exam with your primary physician is key.
Eat healthy – Read labels to understand what you are eating and try to plan a weekly menu that is well balanced. After all, we are what we eat.
Exercise – It keeps popping up. Want to lose weight, look better, feel healthier or reduce stress? Exercise is always in the formula. Pick an exercise routine that’s right for you. It may be a 20 minute walk or a 5 mile run; there is no right answer. Just do it.
Relax and find “me” time – We’ve all heard the expression that “happiness comes from within”. Take time for yourself to relax and do the things you enjoy, even if for just a few moments a day.
Take care of YOU first – A happier you, will be better equipped to take care of the ones you love.
This is just a list of 10, the complete list is unmeasured.
Wishing for a Happy, Healthy, Better New Year!
